Our First Event Day! Valentines Day <3
Celebrating Love at Bailey’s Doggy Daycare: Our First Valentine’s Day Event
Love was truly in the air at Bailey’s Doggy Daycare as we hosted our inaugural Valentine’s Day celebration! Our furry friends enjoyed a day filled with special treats, fun activities, and memorable moments. Here’s a recap of the day’s highlights:
🍾 Doggy Champagne Toast
We kicked off the festivities with a delightful “Doggy Champagne” toast. Each pup was served dog-friendly champagne in elegant flutes, allowing them to join in the celebratory spirit. Tails wagged in excitement as they sipped on this special beverage.
💌 Love Note Exchange
To add a personal touch, we organised a “Love Note Exchange.” Each dog received a Valentine’s card from a secret admirer, making them feel extra special.
☕ Valentine’s Puppuccinos
We served up Valentine’s-themed puppuccinos, topped with a dash of love. These creamy delights were a hit, providing a tasty treat for our canine guests to enjoy during the festivities.
📸 Valentine’s Day Photoshoot
We set up a charming Valentine’s Day-themed photoshoot area. Each dog had their moment in the spotlight, and the resulting photos captured the essence of the day’s fun and love.
Our first Valentine’s Day event was a resounding success, filled with joy, laughter, and wagging tails. We can’t wait to host more special events in the future and continue creating unforgettable memories with your beloved pets. Thank you to all who joined us and made the day so special!
Enjoy the photos from the day 🙂
Why We Chose Our Colour Scheme?
Why Bailey’s Doggy Daycare Uses Blue, Yellow & Grey?
At Bailey’s Doggy Daycare, we’ve thoughtfully chosen a colour palette of blue, yellow, and grey to create an environment that’s both engaging and comforting for our canine guests. This selection is rooted in understanding how dogs perceive colours, ensuring that our daycare is tailored to their unique visual experiences.
Understanding Canine Color Vision
Unlike humans, who have three types of cone receptors in their eyes allowing them to see a full spectrum of colours, dogs possess only two. This means their colour vision is similar to red-green colour blindness in humans. Dogs primarily see shades of blue and yellow, while reds and greens appear as hues of grey or brown. This dichromatic vision influences how they interact with their surroundings.
Why Blue and Yellow?
By incorporating blue and yellow into our daycare’s design, we ensure that the colours are vibrant and distinguishable to our furry friends. These hues can stimulate their senses, promote playfulness, and create a lively atmosphere. For instance, blue-coloured toys or yellow agility equipment are more likely to capture a dog’s attention, enhancing their play experience.
The Role of Grey
Grey serves as a neutral backdrop that complements the blue and yellow accents. While dogs may perceive reds and greens as greyish tones, using actual grey in our design provides a calming effect, helping to balance the stimulating nature of blue and yellow. This combination creates a harmonious environment where dogs can feel both energised and relaxed.
Creating a Dog-Friendly Environment
Our commitment to understanding and catering to canine senses goes beyond colour selection. By designing spaces that align with how dogs see the world, we enhance their comfort and well-being. This thoughtful approach ensures that every aspect of Bailey’s Doggy Daycare is optimised and catered for our guests’ happiness.

By embracing a colour scheme attuned to canine vision, Bailey’s Doggy Daycare stands out as a place where dogs can truly feel at home, surrounded by colours that resonate with their natural perceptions.
After all, this is their daycare – we are just lucky enough to be their caretakers!

Meet the Team
👋 Ashleigh – Dog Daycare Manager
Hey there! I’m Ashleigh, the manager here at Bailey’s Doggy Daycare. It’s my job to make sure everything runs smoothly and that your dog gets the best care possible. I’ve always been passionate about animals, which is why I pursued a master’s degree in Human-Animal Interaction and Wellbeing, alongside a first-class degree in Animal Behaviour.
I’m also trained in dog first aid, CPR, and emergency triage, which means your pup is in very safe hands while they’re here! I’ve worked in various dog daycares for the past four years, and before that, I gained experience in veterinary settings, farms, stables, and even safari zoos.
When I’m not working with dogs, I’m all about musical theatre – I love belting out tunes! 🎶 Country music holds a special place in my heart, but I’ll listen to anything that strikes a chord. I also can’t resist spending time on Instagram and love hanging out with my husband, family, and friends. Oh, and Halloween makeup? Count me in! 🎃
👋 Sami – Senior Dog Handler
Hi! I’m Sami, and I’m a Senior Dog Handler here at Bailey’s. I’ve worked in dog daycare for the past three years after deciding to switch careers at 30 – and I’ve never looked back! I’m fully qualified with a level 3 certification in canine daycare and boarding, and I’m also trained in canine first aid.
Before gaining my qualifications, I volunteered in dog daycare, which really solidified my passion for helping dogs have the best care and experiences.
On a more personal note, I love to travel! ✈️ I’m always dreaming of new places to explore. When I’m at home, though, you’ll find me spending time with my family or enjoying a girls’ night with my besties (therapy, right?). I also enjoy long walks with my dog Charlie 🐾 and, of course, a good Netflix session. 🏠
👑 Bailey – The Queen Bee & Mumma Bear
And finally, the one who started it all… Bailey! 🐾 I’m the Golden Retriever behind Bailey’s Doggy Daycare (though, I’m not always so golden, you’ll find me rolling in the mud puddles and jumping in the water when i’m allowed 😅). I’m the “Mumma Bear” to all the pups here and the “Queen Bee” of the daycare.
You’ll see me on our socials (@baileysdoggydaycare) making sure everyone feels welcomed and loved. I’m a bit of a nutter, so be ready to see me zooming around, rolling on my back, and playfully mouthing my furry friends – I’m just here for a good time!
